Basket Weave

This was just a bad day.  A poor (but first time) attempt at a basket weave style and a bad photography day.

Corn Rows

This is how I accomplish my twistouts.  You can also wear these cornrows out and about.....if your locktician did a good job creating your parts.  Thanks Angie! I sometimes curl the ends under with Soft Spike Curlers which is something every locked (Sisterlocks & Traditional Locks) sista should own to create endless styles.

Flat Twists

I have been using Nubian Kinks Liquid Hair Vitamins which is an awesome smelling leave-in conditioner, moisturizer, and strengthener.  My Asian co-worker repeatedly commented on how good my hair smelled and he asked if he could touch my hair which is a compliment.  He also ask me repeatedly if I have a date which is his way of complimenting my appearance because he knows that I am married.  In contrast, he never made such comments prior to my Sisterlocks. I also use Nubian Kinks Sheen Spray for a glossy sheen and HealthyLocks Daily Conditioning Mist for softness, sheen, and moisture.  When I touch my hair it feels really soft so I assumed that I would have oily hands, but guess what...no oily hands, just softness and moisturized locks.  These products are a keeper!
On another note, maybe it is my imagination, but it seems like my hair is shorter than it was when I started.  I guess my hair is still bunching.  I will be glad when the length starts.

More flat twist pictures.  This is actually day 2 of my flat twists.  The pictures above are day 1.

Accents Your Style

I left a lock out on the side to create an accent curl.  You can do the simplest things to make your lock style unique.  Plus, I like to show off the versitility of Sisterlocks.  You can sorta se the style below.

Check me out!  My hair is curled in the back which is why it looks shorter than it really is.
Here is another style. I stuck 3 decorative hair pins in my pinned up hair.

French Roll

Managed a French Roll. Used The old sock trick to make the style. Got a lot of compliments too.

EZcombs

have been eyeballing the EZcomb for a while and finally decided to get it. Now I'm going back to get one in every color. The teeth are round and slide around the lock, not through them....and it pulls out really easy. This is a must have. I have SL's. It may work for small traditional locks. The teeth are probably not spaced apart enough for med - large traditional locks. I should mention that my SL's are 7 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days old.

Shampoo Day

Just finished washing my hair with Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo. What a treat! My head is still tingling from the tea tree oil in the shampoo. This shampoo was recommended by my locktician due to it's cleansing ability and the invigorating feeling it leaves behind. I highly recommend it.

Flat Twist

Experimenting with my Sisterlocks.  I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.  Oh, I should  mention that since 5.5 months I have been using the Sisterlock Moisturizer and Dew by Happy-N-Nappy...sparingly.  Around 5.5 months my locktician started using these products on me, but she told me not to use them at home until she says I can.  I figure that since she uses it on my hair, so can I.  Hope I don't regret it.  I only cheat on the weekend.

I should mention that my hair was wavy due to a previous braid out (a few cornrows) and I secured the twists with tiny black rubber bands.

6 Months 5 Days Sisterlocks

I wet my hair and put it in 7 or 8 corn rows and covered it with a bonnet. I did not use any product because I have not gotten the thumbs up from my locktician yet. The braidout lasts 4 or 5 days. I wear the bonnet each night.

Rebel Sisterlock

I have this one hard headed sisterlock that is trying to hold on to my original curl pattern. You are going down!

5.8 Month Sisterlocks

My Sisterlocks still have plenty of frizz.  I had a retightening session this past Wednesday, or was it Thursday which is why so much scalp is showing.  Well, although I claim that I don't see progress , the pucture says otherwise. I see growth and locks forming. Wish I could color because my hair looks dull and blah. Guess I have to be patient.

Hair Frustrations

I'm in the bathroom at work trying to do something presentable with my hair. I tried a new style and was getting the "stare" from my boss. I should have taken a pic of it before I took the style down. Basically the front was curled and the back was in a bun. Since my hair was recently tightened, it looked really scalpy. Maybe if it wasn't freshly tightened it would have looked better. Who knows, maybe it looked fine to begin with.

5 Year Old Sisterlocks (A Total Stranger)

I saw this lady in Target and she was nice enough to let me take pictures of her hair.  Her Sisterlocks are only 5 years old and look how long they are!  She did have shoulder length hair when she started.

4.8 Month Sisterlocks

This is 8 days after a retightening as you can tell by the scalp. The ends are thick compaired to the shaft and root.  Puffy, frizzy, and matted comes to mind as well.  Not an attractive stage.

4 Months Sisterlocks

Trying out a new style.  My temples are still looking a little thin, but they have gotten better since I stopped relaxing.
