My Braidout

My Sisterlocks are 2 years, 5 months, & 3 weeks old.  Been a while since I've done a braid out.  I was felt as though my hair wasn't growing, but after comparing looking at previous posts I have to admit that my hair has grow.  Still, I feel like my hair should be longer based on other photos I have seen of other ladies at a similar stage.  Yes I am very anxious to have long hair.  I can's wait until I can throw it into a pony with little or not effort.  Still, I'm loving my journey.  Anyway, holla at me and don't forget to download my iPhone app and visit me on YouTube.

From the Queen herself!

So because of my work I often cross paths with Toshia Shaw from On The Road To Queendom!!  She literally looks like one of those chocolate porcelain dolls in person with the way her long gorgeous locs frame her face.  Anyway, yesterday Queen asked me if I was documenting my hairstyles and I told her that for the most part I was not.  Well, I can't remember what she said exactly.....but bottom line is that she said I need to document more.  I am absolutely tickled pink that I was kindly scolded by her.  Also, the fact that she took the time to tell me that I should document my styles more is an amazing compliment.  Anywho, here are my latest.  I do have an invisible hairnet around my ponytail in order to keep some of the shorter locs from sticking out all over the place.

Follow Pebbles Pages from your iPhone

(Please download and rate five ***** stars).

No I'm not in love with myself....I am a computer and technology geek.  I was curious as to how to create a smartphone app so I started my research along with a little trial and error.  Before I knew it I had my own app.

Right now my app is very raw.  I have to make a lot of changes starting with the price.  It is posted as a $0.99 app, but it should have been posted as a free app.  Hopefully Apple will make the correction soon.

Well, I hope to get your support and five star (*****) ratings to boost my app to the top of the charts.  How exciting!!

Experimenting with a headband.

These were old curls and it was late at night and I was bored.  I noticed my headband sitting there and decided to try it on Indian style.  I sorta like it.  What do you think?

My Sisterlock Workout Bun. 1 Year 10 Months!!!

This is a quick easy to maintain style for those workout days.  Look professional at work and get down and dirty at the gym.  You can spritz your hair at night with water and your favorite oil to help it to lay down and also because your hair loves it.  Now pull your bangs forward and tie the remainder of your hair up with your man's wave cap.  Make sure your bangs are sticking out of the front.  Now put your bonnet on over the wave cap and make sure your bangs are tucked under the bonnet.  This will smoosh your bangs down and keep them fresh and curly all week.  If you sweat too much during your workout you may have to perm rod your bangs again.  No big deal.
I actually have a hair net around the bun.  Can you see it?

This was a huge hit at work.  Today my employee approached me about his daughter getting Sisterlocks.

My bangs were banging.

My Sisterlock Mohawk Achieved Using The Wrap-A-Loc Tool

I plan to join the other locked professionals and MURDER the stereotypes about locked hair.

Locks are not unprofessional you say?  I sit at the round table with executives and often times the conversation turns to how great my hair looks.

To see more of my styling techniques, visit my YouTube Channel.  Please subscribe :-).
The Wrap-A-Loc curls lasts longer than a month.  Yes I tested it once and with each passing day my curls got tighter and tighter.  I put a bonnet on my head every night.  My curls are still there after being retightened which is amazing....mainly because my stylist is careful to only spray the water on my roots when I have a curl set.  The set is very versitle.....I vary the style from mohawks, puffs, or  just let the curls hang and do what it do.

Here I washed my hair two weeks ago and I rolled an average of 3 SL's on each Wrap-A-Loc tool.  The curls are still going strong as you can see.  I smooth the front edges with some water, oils, Jane Carter Styling Mousse, and a partial scarf just for the edges.  You only have to leave the scarf on for about 15 minutes at the most..  What do you think.

For those of you who are not lucky enough to have a great locktician, you don't know what you are missing!  Her name is Angie Childs and she has been my consultant since she was a trainee, but now she is certified.  With that being said...don't under estimate a trainee.  I got lucky because she is also a beauty school instructor so she has a natural talent and is a perfectionist to begin with so she could not help but excel when she was a trainee.
